Hum Aapke Hain Koun Movie was one of the most successful movie of Indian cinema. Salman Khan as hero and Madhuri Dixit as heroine - their romantic chemistry was liked by everyone. From real acting to melodious songs and from direction to cinematography, everything was perfect.
Hum Aapke Hain Koun movie won five Filmfare Awards, including Best Film, Best Director, and Best Actress, as well as winning the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
It was the first Hindi film to gross over Rs.1 billion, and when adjusted for inflation, is the highest grossing Hindi film of the 1990s and also still one of the highest-earning Bollywood films ever. Box Office India described it as "the biggest blockbuster of the modern era."
It is a remake of old Bhojpuri film Nadiya Ke Paar (1982). The film was made under Rajshri Productions. The film starred Sachin, Sadhana Singh, Inder Thakur, Mitali in lead roles. Inder Thakur, who played the role of Sachin's elder brother in the movie Inder Thakur, died in the crash of Air India Flight 182.
Hum Aapke Hain Koun movie premiered at Liberty Cinema in southern Mumbai on 5 August 1994. It eventually ran there for over 100 weeks.
Movie Mistake: In the song "Didi tera devar dewana", Madhuri starts with her sari in Gujarati style. Then while she pretneds to be pregnant, its in another style. Then as soon as she pulls the pillow out, it become Gujarati style again.
The late and acclaimed painter M.F. Hussain had seen the film 85 times. MF Hussain's inclination towards Madhuri was a well known fact. Infact MF Hussain was so charmed by Madhuri after watching Hum Aapke Hain Koun that he made a film which starred Madhuri in lead role. The film titled 'Gajagamini' was a box office disaster. MF Hussain also made many paintings on Madhuri.

As per a report in Indian Express, Madhuri was paid a salary of Rs. 27,535,729 for the role of Nisha.
'Didi Tera Devar' emerged as the most popular wedding number of the season. But very few know that the song is inspired by 'Saare Nabian'. The song 'Saare Nabian' was sung by Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. The film in total had 14 songs which was much beyond the average number of songs in any film. Songs like Maye Ni Maye, Joote De Do, Hum Aapke Hain Koun became quite popular with the masses. The album emerged as one of the top selling albums of the year.
