That means there is much weight in one's name. And in industry, where one's name is seen as one's personality, no doubt, one will surely change his name. That industry is - Entertainment, Movies, Bollywood.

Today, we'll see more than 30 bollywood actors, who have changed their name while entering film industry.

Salman Khan

"Dabangg"hero - Salman Khan - needs no introduction. Fantastic physique and excellent acting make this hero favourite of millions of Indians and worldwide. But, actually he is not Salman Khan. His real name is Abdul Rashid Salim.

Salim is his father's name - the famous one who wrote story of "Sholay" movie with Javed Akhtar.

Jackie Shroff

The mouche man, with always moustache in style, was introduced as villain in bollywood movie. Later on, director Subhas Ghai introduced him as hero in famous movie "Hero" with Meenakshi Seshadri. That makes him successful hero of bollywood. But his real name is Jaikishen Kaku Bhai.

Hrithik Roshan

Our "Krish" hero, good physique and lovely voice makes millions as his fan. Son of yesteryear, Rakeh Roshan, real name is Hrithik Nagrath. Roshan was the name of Hrithik's Grandfather.

Govinda

Known for his many successful comedian movies - especially the no. 1 series, like Collie no. 1, Hero no. 1, - has given his best performances in many movies. His movie, - "Partner" grossed Rs.300 Million in India on its opening week, the second highest domestic opening week gross for an Indian film until then. But his real name is Govind Arun Ahuja.

Akshay Kumar

The famous "Khiladi" man, black-belt in Taekwondo, best in action as well as in comedy roles, responsible father - his positive points are endless. Married to famous yesteryear hero Rajesh Khanna's daughter - Twinkle Khanna. Struggled a lot before becoming successful hero in bollywood. His real name is Rajiv Hariom Bhatia.

Rajinikant

The man needs no introduction. He has millions of fans in India, especially in Tamil cinema. People are just crazy for his movies. Willing to wait in long queues throughout the night and to pay any money to get his movie tickets for the first day, first show. After earning 26 crore for his role in movie Sivaji (2007), he was the highest paid actor in Asia after Jackie Chan at the time. His real name is Sivaji Rao Gaekwad.

Amitabh Bachchan

"Angry young man", "Shahenshah of Bollywood", "Star of the Millennium" or "Big B" - you call him with any name. He has become real hero in bollywood industry. With billions of fans in India and worldwide, I've no words to explain his personality. He is simply superb. Down to earth, honest and simple man in real life. His real name is Inquilab Srivastava.

However, at the suggestion of fellow poet Sumitranandan Pant, Harivansh Rai changed the boy's name to Amitabh, which means "the light that will never die. Although his surname was Shrivastava, Amitabh's father had adopted the pen name Bachchan ("child-like" in colloquial Hindi), under which he published all of his works. It is with this last name that Amitabh debuted in films and for all other practical purposes, Bachchan has become the surname for all of his immediate family.

Dilip Kumar

Known as "Tragedy King" - he is real king of bollywood movies. He is the winner of 9 Filmfare Awards and is the first recipient of Filmfare Best Actor Award (1954). He sang a song, 'Laagi nahi chhoote raama chaahe jiya jaaye' with Lata Mangeshkar in a movie 'Musafir'. His real name is Muhammed Yousuf Khan.

Ranveer Singh

One of the new entrant and successfull hero in Bollywood industry. His real name is Ranveer Bhavnani. Singh explains that he dropped his surname Bhavnani, since he felt that the name would have been "too long, too many syllables", thus downplaying his brand as a "saleable commodity".

Shahid Kapur

Remember Aryans' music video "Aankhon Mein". He was young, slim but with attractive and cute personalityin that music video. The son of actors Pankaj Kapur and Neelima Azeem. His real name is Shahid Khattar.

Sunny Deol

He is the son of veteran actor Dharmendra, and the elder brother of actor Bobby Deol. His famous dialogue "Dhai kilo ka haath" in Damini (1993) movie and later on in Gadar : Ek Prem Katha (2001) made him unforgettable hero. His real name is Ajay Singh Deol.

Saif Ali Khan

Son of actress Sharmila Tagore and the late cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. Divorced from the actress Amrita Singh with whom he has two children, Khan has been married to the actress Kareena Kapoor since 2012.

It is said that initially, he was offered the role of "Aman" in movie "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai"but he declined that role. The role went to Salman Khan and the movie became one of the hittest and successful movie of bollywood. He later regret on that.

His real name is Sajid Ali Khan.

Bobby Deol

Son of famous bollywood actor Dharmendra and younger brother of actor Sunny Deal, Bobby Deol real name is Vijay Singh Deol. Both the brothers have changed their names before entring film industry. Apart from acting, Deol owns a successful restaurants in Mumbai and a banquet hall that serves 2000 people.

Mithun Chakraborty

The man, who taught Disco dance to Indian film industry. struggled a lot in the beginning to become successful actor. He began his career as a junior actor and went on to establish himself as one of the lead actors in Bollywood. He was a Naxalite before entering films, but tragedy struck his family when his only brother was electrocuted and killed in a freak accident. He returned to his family and left the Naxalite fold. His real name is Gouranga Chakraborty.

Ajay Devgan

In 1991, Devgan began his professional career in Phool Aur Kaante and received a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. In his opening scene, Devgan performed a split while balancing between two motorcycles, in the style of an action hero. Known for his action movies as well as Comedy movies. The famous "Singham" man has done fantastic comedy series "Golmaal". His real name is Vishal Devgan.

Sanjeev Kumar

Famous Dhakur of "Sholay" movie. Sanjeev Kumar was known for his serious, romantic and comedy roles. He did many roles which no other actor could have done. Fantastic role played in Sholay and Trishul. Ironically for an actor who had played many elderly roles, he died at less than 50 years of age. His real name is Haribhai Jarivala.
