ICICI bank customers can easily book rail ticket via SMS. The following article will explain all the steps in detail.
You will be required to update the same number at IRCTC and ICICI Bank. To update your number at IRCTC, please login into your IRCTC account, click on Profile, Update Profile and change your mobile number.
Post this, you will receive a One Time Password (OTP) from IRCTC. On your next login to IRCTC, you will be prompted to enter the OTP. Upon successfully entering the OTP, your mobile number will be updated with IRCTC.
To update your mobile number with ICICI Bank, please visit your nearest ICICI branch or ATM and update the same.
STEP 1 to book rail ticket via SMS
Send an SMS to 139 from your registered mobile number (registered both at the Bank and with IRCTC)
The SMS Format is as follows:
BOOK <TrainNo> <FromCity> <ToCity> <TravelDate(DDMM)> <Class> <Passenger1-Name> <Age> <Gender> <Passenger2-Name> <Age> <Gender> <ICICI>
For example:
BOOK 22105 KYN PUNE 3008 2S AMIT 31 M NEERU 26 F ICICI
You will receive a message with the following details:
- Transaction ID
- Ticket Amount
- IRCTC Service Charge
- Total Amount
- Seat Availability
For example:
Trans Id : 683896995 Ticket Amount : 170.0 IRCTC SC : 11.24 Total Amount : 181.24 Seat : AVAILABLE- 0632 For Payment SMS PAY 683896995 ICICI (Last six digits of your ICICI Account number) (IRCTC user ID) to 139. Note that your mobile number must be registered with ICICI and IRCTC.
STEP 2 to book rail ticket via SMS
On receipt of the above details, send the following SMS for the payment of the ticket to 139:
PAY <Transaction ID as received> ICICI <last 6 digits of your ICICI bank account number> <IRCTC UserID>
For Example:
PAY 683896995 ICICI 123456 AMIT65
You will receive the following confirmation message from 139:
Ticket Booked Successfully.
PNR : 8215683252
Ticket No : 0735559335
Booking Status : PRIYANK CONFIRM D2 0100, NEERU CONFIRM D2 0101
Class : 2S
Ticket Amt : 170.0
SC: 11.24

Cancellation of ticket using SMS
To cancel the ticket, you can send the following SMS to 139:
CAN <space> PNR Number <space> IRCTC user ID
Example: CAN 8215683252 AMIT65
You will get another message from 139 asking you to confirm the cancellation. Reply with YES to confirm your cancellation.
